What You Should Ask “Them” in A Job Interview to Better Your Chances at Getting the Job

Job interviews can be stressful. In fact, some employers make job interviews stressful on purpose, just to see how well you can handle the heat.

But don’t worry, FindYourJobNow.com is here to not only help you find a job (and find one fast) …

But to help alleviate the stresses that can come during one of the most important parts of the entire hiring process, the job interview…

That small window of time when the employer gets to choose which candidate is not only best for the job, resume wise, but which one has the ability to manage high pressure situations the best too.

And we want that candidate to be you!

You see, by coming into a job interview prepared with some questions for them (they want you to ask questions), you’re not only showing your interest in the company and the position, but you could be upping your chances at landing the job…

And you’re shifting the stress of answering questions, from you to them!

Here’s a fun fact, Forbes magazine wrote an entire article titled, “Surprise: The Hiring Manager Is More Anxious Than the Job Seeker.”[1]

So, ease your mind, it’s not just you that’s under pressure. The hiring manager is too.

Now, at some point in your job interview you’ll likely be asked by the hiring manager if you have any questions for them.

Never say “no.” Never!

Instead, say, “Yes, thank you for asking.”

The ball is now in your court… and the stress of answering questions has shifted onto their shoulders.

Here’s what to ask:

  • “What is the company’s main philosophy?”
  • “What is your favorite thing about the company and its culture?”
  • “What are your expectations of me in this role, and what do you feel should be accomplished by me in my first 90 days?”
  • “Can you tell me more about the team I’d be working with, what’s needed to make that team stronger, and how my responsibilities on the team may change over the next six months or so?”
  • “I’m a big believer in efficiency. So how does the team I’d be working with interact with your other teams? And how is that workflow collaborated between everyone to assure the job gets done?”
  • “What is the current short term, medium term and long-term goals the company has, and how would the team I’d be working on help fulfill those goals?”
  • “Can you tell me about some of the challenges I may face in this role?”
  • “Can you tell me about the onboarding process?”
  • “If you do hire me, could you provide any materials to help get me up to speed, before my first day?”

Now, if FindYourJobNow.com has already helped you find a job, you’ve submitted your resume and were chosen to either come in for an in-person interview, or chosen for a virtual interview, congratulations!
