Up Your Chances at Landing a Good Job!

By Submitting Your Resume on This Day, At This Time:

You’ve probably put a lot of time and effort into finding a job. In fact, if you’re reading this now, you’re still looking for one. But just because you haven’t found a good job yet, doesn’t mean you won’t. In fact, we at FindYourJobNow.com firmly believe you will!

It all comes down to perseverance and patience and strategy.

Now, if you’ve been a regular reader of our blog, you’ve already gotten great tips on how to write and format your resume, which jobs are in high demand… and how to find one of them near you.

You’ve also been given tips on how to nail your job interview and how to negotiate your salary once you’re offered the job.

But today, we’re going to take a small step backwards. Back to the point where you’d first noticed by employers. Back to your resume.

More specifically, we’re going to show you the best day of the week, and the best time of that day to submit your resume.

And yes, time of day and day of the week can make a difference.

Why? Because if you submit your resume at the “right time”, you could increase you chances at getting noticed by the employer…

Increasing your odds of getting an interview…

Thereby increasing your chances of getting the job.

With that said, let’s go through a scenario you may have already experienced.

It’s Saturday morning. You’re reviewing all the job opportunities we’ve curated for you at FindYourJobNow.com…

And you come across a few of them that you absolutely love.

The moment you find them you then submit your resume.

Great idea, right? Wrong.

You should actually wait a little bit.

Here’s why…

Chances are, perhaps dozens of other people also saw that job posting and have submitted their resumes that Saturday morning too. And on Sunday, maybe dozens more have submitted.

This means that by Monday morning, the resume you submitted could be sitting at the bottom of the digital stack. Meaning it could take hours for a hiring manager to even notice it.

Now, let’s assume the job you want is with a company that’s open Monday through Friday. For obvious reasons, submitting your resume on Saturday morning is not a great idea. Again, your resume could get buried because nobody’s there to review it.

So, what’s the best day to apply/submit a resume?

Well, it’s Monday.

According to a survey cited on LinkedIn, submitting your resume on Mondays gives you at least a 10% better chance of getting an interview.[1]

Read that again. Monday’s give you a 10% better chance of getting an interview!

Monday also happens to be among the most productive days for hiring managers; so, by submitting your resume on Monday, you could up your chances of your resume landing at the top of the stack.

But what time on Monday should you submit/apply?

Well, not at 9am. You see, at 9am, hiring managers, like everyone else, is probably just getting settled in. Maybe going over “task” emails, going to early meetings etc.…

But, by 10am, everyone is “working.”

Meaning you should target your resume/application to hit the hiring managers inbox at 10am…

And no later than 11am.

Why not later than 11?

Well, no matter what day of the week, a survey from MoneyPenny found that most employees, including hiring managers, are most productive before 11am.[2]

This means hiring managers are more engaged with their jobs (finding candidates) before lunchtime.

So…

We suggest you submit your resumes on Mondays between 10am and 11am.

It may sound odd, but this strategy could really help you get an interview…
