If you’re looking for a new job, right now is the time to find one! FindYourJobNow.com has tens of thousands of jobs available all across America for you to see. And as confirmed by recent data released by the government, you’ll find that our list of job openings is growing!
The latest Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTs report, released at the end of May revealed there were 10.1 million job openings in America by the end of April. That was an increase of 358,000 job openings compared to the jobs available at the end of March, and 700,000 more job openings than economists expected.[1]
That’s one heck of a way to kick off the second quarter of the year.
Nearly every kind of job is available, from wait staff at restaurants and short haul truck drivers, to web developers, nurses, and skilled tradespeople. You name it, there’s likely an opening.
Because of the massive shortage of labor, job applicants may now have more choices in where and who they work for and have tremendous bargaining power to boot!
What’s better, since many employers are so desperate to hire, many of them are now paying more salary or higher wages for workers than at almost any time before. In fact, the average hourly wage is up 4.3% compared to this time last year.[2]
Which areas have seen the most job openings, and how can I find a new job?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the April report showed there were over 200,000 additional job openings in retail trade. Healthcare and social assistance jobs saw an increase of 185,000 openings and transportation, warehousing and utilities job openings increased by 154,000.[3]
Of course, this is great news for anyone looking for a new job in these three areas, but there are millions of jobs available that are in other fields as well. There’s even an enormous number of remote jobs available, some that require no experience at all!
