A quick note before we begin…

FindYourJobNow.com has been working tirelessly to find a job that we think could be a good fit for you. Every day we scour the jobs market in your area, find the new ones we think you’ll like, then upload the job selections we’ve created based on YOUR preferences.

This means that when you check on the new jobs we’ve found and selected for you, they’re not only based on YOUR preferences, but as a whole, they might not be seen by every other job seeker using our technology.

That said, using our technology every day could be a great advantage for you, because we’re continuously out there looking for jobs for you, based on you, and we won’t give up until the job you want belongs to you!

Now, regarding your next job interview.

While we’ve covered a number of things you should do and say in a job interview, there are three things you definitely don’t want to do. And believe it or not, a lot of people actually do them, and because they do, they very often don’t get hired.

Here’s what not to do…

Let’s assume your job interview, at least your first interview with the employer, is going to be a virtual interview. Now, this is a good assumption to make since recent data shows that as much as 82% of employers hold their job interviews virtually.[1]

Now, in your virtual job interview you’ll WANT to dress and act like it’s an in-person interview, because they can see you and they can hear your answers to their questions.

But…

NEVER use Ai like ChatGPT to answer any interview questions. We know there’s TikTok “interview hack” videos going around showing people using it, but please don’t. The hiring manager WILL know.

One HR manager said of a candidate who tried this, “I did a video interview with a lady who, after a few questions, made it painfully obvious that she was just feeding the questions into ChatGPT and reading back the answers.

“Her answers were rambling essays defining a key word in the question rather than answering it. I asked her about her proudest accomplishment, and she said "some things that people often feel a sense of accomplishment about include” ...

'This told me she either knew nothing about the position or had so little confidence in her skills that she would need to be constantly shadowed rather than being able to eventually work independently. Both are instant “no".”[2]

Now, for an in-person interview, NEVER show up unless you’re clean, your teeth are brushed and you’re wearing clean, job-appropriate clothes. Simply put, be respectful to the person interviewing you. If you show up disheveled and you smell, you’re probably not going to get the job.

Finally, the third thing you should NEVER do in a job interview is to come accompanied. Don’t bring your parents, don’t bring your kids and don’t bring a friend unless they plan to sit in the parking lot for an hour.

Hiring managers don’t want to see that you need a to be chaperoned. They want to see that you’re independent and ready to work.

Get this, one hiring manager said of bringing parents to a job interview, “'Any level of parental involvement in the interview, especially someone who brings their parent to an interview, is a no. Parent calls to schedule or reschedule the interview? Pass. Bring a parent to the interview? Immediate pass.”

So, there you have it. The three things you should NEVER do in a job interview. Pretty simple, right?

Now that you know this, it’s time to get that job interview. Like we said earlier, FindYourJobNow.com is constantly looking for new opportunities for you…
