Everyone wants a “dream” job. One that not only serves their emotional needs, but their financial ones too. But, in order to land a “dream” job, especially a six-figure dream job, you need a college degree, right?
Well, not so fast!
In today’s economy, employers no longer judge job candidates on degrees alone. Employers are looking for skills and the desire for their employees to learn new skills.
This means that if you do have a degree, you might be able to find a good job (especially if it’s a highly focused job that requires specific college training), but the degree might not matter as much as it used to. Even for dream jobs.
Here's what we mean: A recent survey of business leaders showed that 60% of them have removed degree requirements for entry level positions. For mid-level positions, 54% have removed degree requirements… and 18% have removed those requirements for senior level roles![1]
See what we mean?
Today, FindYourJobNow.com will show you some of the most popular jobs (aka dream jobs) you can find that you don’t require a college degree and can pay six figures.
Now, let’s quickly clarify what we mean by dream job. Everyone would probably define a dream job differently. For some of us that might mean working at a high pressure video game company testing code for new games. For others, it may mean tending to a private island where you’re alone for 8 months out of the year.
So, for our purposes, we’re going to define a dream job as one that offers flexible schedules, opportunities for travel and the potential to earn six figures doing it.
According to CNBC and Google search data, there are several jobs that fit into this category.[2]
Here are the three most “popular.”
Flight Attendant: The average flight attendant makes about $47,079 a year, but senior flight attendants can earn upwards of $100k with the right airline, a lot of experience and lot of time on the job.
Notary: Notaries earn an average of about $64,777. However, notary signing agents can make up to $200 an hour!
Real estate agent: The average real estate agent pulls in about $85,793 annually. However, some real estate agents make big bucks. If you’ve ever seen tv shows like Million Dollar Listing, you know some can make hundreds of thousands of dollars on a single deal.
Of course, like any job, dream job or otherwise, the more experience you have the better you can get paid. But, like we said, none of these three “popular” dream jobs require you to have a college degree. They all require some special training or licensing, however.
So, if you’re looking for a dream job, it can be the three jobs above or any job you’d consider to be a dream job…
