A lot of people think the “work from home” economy is kaput. It went away years ago; the moment businesses fully opened after the pandemic.
But, while it’s true that a lot of companies do indeed require all of their workforce to come into the office every day…
Not every company requires it. And get this, the work from home economy is more than just still alive, it’s thriving!
In fact, our friends over at theTicker just highlighted a hybrid and remote worker study on the subject which they titled in mid-December 2025, “Remote Work is Here to Stay”[1]
In it, they say “Forty-three percent of the regional workforce would prefer to work remotely full-time…”
But get this…
“The key finding of the study is that, both nationally and regionally, remote work peaked during the early days of the pandemic and dipped in the years immediately following…
“But has increased again between 2022 and 2024.”
Now, when the survey was taken in 2025, “One of the survey questions we asked was ‘Are you more apt to work for a company that offers remote work?’…
“56 percent said, ‘Definitely yes,’ and another 17 percent said, ‘Probably yes’…
“So, even as companies call people back to the office, continuing to offer some level of remote work as an option is what the workforce seems to really want.”
Now, working remote isn’t for everyone, we get it. Some of us love the water-cooler banter, and don’t mind the commute to and from work.
However, as you may know, remote work is ideal for a whole lot of us. And depending on your home life, working from home may be necessary, even.
