Industries with The Most Job Openings… And How You Can Find a Job Fast!

Did you know that according to the latest data, there are nearly 7.4 million job openings across the country?[1] That’s a lot of job openings… and a lot of opportunities for you to start earning a paycheck.

A big paycheck!

Of course, with that many job openings, not every job in every industry would be a good fit for you. Each one would depend on your skillset and education, obviously.

But that’s why today, FindYourJobNow.com will share with you the five industries with the most job openings. Since they have a good variation of necessary skills and education (and job responsibilities), chances are you could be a good fit in at least one of them.

What’s better, if you’ve got particular or unique high-demand skills, knowhow and education for any of these industries, you could be in luck.

Why? Well, when employers are in desperate need of workers (high demand and low supply), they often have to increase the amount of money they’re willing to pay. Meaning, you could make a lot of money simply because there are a lot of positions that need to be filled, and not enough people to fill them.

So, let’s get to the industries with the most job openings, shall we?

According to recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 6.5 million total job openings in the private sector and 847K in the public sector.[2]

In the private sector, there are five industries with big job openings.

They are…

Private education and health services, with 1.62 million job openings.

Next, we have the healthcare and social assistance industry with 1.47 million openings…

Then, the professional and business services industry with 1.42 million job openings.

Trade, transportation and utilities have 1.09 million job openings….

And the leisure and hospitality industry have 868k openings.

In case you were wondering, the industry with the fewest job openings is mining and logging, with just 23,000. The second lowest industry for job openings is real estate and rental leasing, with 133k openings.

Now, where are the jobs in these industries located? And how can you find one?

Well, let’s start with their regional location.

In the Northeast, there are about 1.4 million job openings across all industries, both private and public sector.

The West has a total of 1.54 million job openings…

The Midwest has 1.6 million…

And the south has a whopping 2.84 million job openings. So, if you live down south, you’ve got a lot more opportunities than those who live in the Northeast.

But remember, no matter where you live chances are you can find a job… you just need a little bit of help finding one, right?
